If there’s one mantra I remember from my formative years, it’s focussing on one thing and one thing only when you’ve an ad or an identity to create. In fact I dare say the same is true with all creative challenges. So prioritising is key when you have a list. This identity could have easily gone in one of two directions. Focussing on the clients name: Fern. Or the nature of her business.
The one I’ve shown here wasn’t the one the client picked, but for me it was the best and one of the most practical. And adding a row of white dots (as a repeating branding element) around the perimeter of all applications to signify those iconic light bulbs around the perimeter of a mirror was just the icing on the cake. Plus it shouts ‘make-up artist to the stars’ and provides an air of professionalism and credibility.
Let me know what you think?
