Karori Creche
It’s always sad when a project ends prematurely due to lack of funds. And the Karori Creche rebrand was one of those.
Karori Plunket Creche – operating under the umbrella of the Royal New Zealand Plunket Society – had been informed after 20 years in the same building that they had to leave. So a campaign to save the creche was mounted, and after successful negotiations with the building owners, a way forward was established.
But following a reduction in both child attendance and government financial support, it was determined that not enough money was coming in to secure the facility in the long term. So closure was announced.
I’d provided three identity concepts with potential elemental assets, and was awaiting their choice. But unfortunatey we never got that far. All of which are featured here, and reflect the aspirations of the facility as well as the people involved.
